New culms are pea green in color with dark brown speckled culm sheaths. The culms later turn yellow with a few randomly placed dark green stripes. Looks and grows best when grown in a warm sunny place. Dark colored culm sheaths on the new shoots contrast greatly with the deep yellow culms. Highly desired ornamental.
