Yushania anceps 'Pitt White'
Height: 15 feet
This bamboo is popular in England. Its slender
leaves and fountain-like appearance are reminiscent of Fargesia murielae.
Yushania anceps 'Pitt White' makes a good substitution for Fargesia murielae
where one would like a runner instead of a clumping bamboo. Like
other Yushania, this bamboo has rhizomes that are technically
clumping rhizome type, but because it is so vigorous and has long rhizome
"necks", we consider any Yushania to be a spreading bamboo, though
not as fast as Phyllostachys. It is fairly deep rooted, making
it good for erosion control. |
