Phyllostachys meyeri is a useful bamboo in the landscape
due to its tendency to grow upright. It is similar to
P. aurea but taller and
lacking the condensed internodes at the base. It is a hardy bamboo for
most climates and one of the better bamboos for growing in very hot southern
regions. A fast, reliable grower that makes an excellent screen.
