This form of Giant
timber bamboo is one
of the most unusual.
The culms are very
wrinkled, giving them
an appearance
similar to corduroy. In Japanese it is called "Shibochiku", which literally
means "wrinkly bamboo." This form is rather slow to spread but still achieve
large diameter culms.
