Phyllostachys
bambusoides 'Marliac'
Common names: Marliac,
Corduroy Bamboo
Maximum Height: 30+ feet
Diameter: 2+ inches
Hardiness: 5°
F
USDA Zone recommended 7 through 10
This form of Giant
timber bamboo is one
of the most unusual.
The culms are very
wrinkled, giving them
an appearance
similar to corduroy. In Japanese it is called "Shibochiku", which
literally means "wrinkly bamboo." This form is rather slow to spread
so our
supply is limited.
