Golden bamboo with a green culm and a yellow sulcus
(groove). It has the same interesting distorted culms as the species. This is a form of
Phyllostachys aurea and is not the same as Yellow Groove Bamboo. Opposite
colored bamboo can be planted together for a very interesting effect; try
mixing 'Flavescens Inversa' with the form,
Phyllostachys aurea
'Koi'. We did such a planting in
Portland's Chinese
Garden.
This plant makes an excellent privacy screen, see
Phyllostachys aurea for picture.
This colorful form has the same growth habit as the original plant.
