Fargesia nitida 'Nanping'
Common Names: Blue Fountain,
  Hardy Blue Bamboo

Maximum Height: 12-15 feet
Diameter: 0.5 inches
Hardiness: -20° F
USDA zone 5 - 9,
not for climates with high heat and humidity (southeastern states).

This new introduction of Fargesia nitida differs only slightly from the species in that it has a subtle iridescent shine to the leaves and a slightly more "open" clumping habit, meaning that the canes don't grow as tight together. They do form a dense screen when mature.  It is very cold-hardy, but cannot tolerate more than a couple hours of direct sunlight. It is quite rare and in no danger of flowering, unlike many of the old generation cultivars of  F. nitida.
