Borinda nujiangensis
formerly mistakenly called
(F. yulongshanensis)
Height: 12 ? feet
Diameter: .5 inch
Hardiness: 15°F, possibly 10°F
Recommended for USDA zone 8b through 9, not for climates with high heat and
humidity (southeastern states).
Another interesting Borinda,
of moderate hardiness,
nujiangensis
has some of the most
slender leaves or our Borindas.
The new shoots have beautiful reddish marbled sheathes.
We have had it in the ground for a little over 2 years. A couple have prospered
despite a couple of bad winters. One did fail, for some
reason. We are still learning its size and hardiness. Only
Borinda angustissima has smaller leaves,
but
nujiangensis
has longer, more slender leaves.
